Medi.NET
Medical device platform for openly integrated central workstations in the OR and hospital
The Medi.NET project started in March 2024 and aims to develop workstations and additional services for cross-manufacturer integration of medical devices in the OR. The basis is SDC, an open communications standard. Within the research project, this standard is being realised by steute Meditec with interoperable medical devices.
Medi.NET is made up of various technology companies, such as steute, research institutes and clinical users. Its goal is improved quality in medical care through uniform user interfaces, automated documentation and optimised processes. A technology centre is planned in the Aachen region to boost both knowledge and employment, while promoting research into medical technology.
In brief
- Project start March 2024
- Project duration 3 years until February 2027
- 12 active partners
Within the Medi.NET project, steute is focusing on the realisation of real-time-sensitive applications by linking of SDC (Service-oriented Device Connectivity) and TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking).
This will later facilitate e.g. precise control of devices in the OR using a single foot switch, in turn requiring a dynamic configuration of all devices and networks. In addition, steute is developing smart control devices, such as universal foot switches and universal remote controls, which will guarantee safe control of all devices in the OR.
