Configurable user interfaces

Configurable medical foot switches can be used to position and operate medical devices in a wide variety of ways. steute can custom-develop configurable controls according to your requirements, providing you with a single user interface able to control many different functions. Typical applications include positioning surgical microscopes and patient tables, as well as the operation of surgical robots.

Our medical foot switches feature ergonomic housings made of thermoplastic or aluminium. Because the system is modular, the user interface can then be adapted to your requirements. The foot controls can be fitted with different actuators—such as a round joypad or rocker switch—without any additional tooling costs. The joypad allows diagonal switching across the X and Y axes in addition to the up, down, left, and right functions, while the rocker switch provides good tactile feedback in response to force.

In addition, our configurable user interfaces can also be fitted with an optional protective bar which doubles as a carrying handle. All medical foot switches are further equipped with two redundant switching contacts, providing first failure safety.
